April 2nd - Support Offshore Wind: Join the Human Chain at the Maryland State House
Please come join hundreds of Marylanders on Monday night April 2nd as we form a "Circle of Support" around the Maryland State House in Annapolis to encourage lawmakers to embrace offshore wind power.
Yes, we will literally form a continuous ring of people around the capital building. It will be a powerful way to convey a very positive message: This circle represents our unified appreciation of leaders who have fought so hard to advance legislation this year to build a clean-energy wind farm off Maryland’s Atlantic coast.
When’s the last time citizens formed a ring around the State House in Annapolis? No one – not even long-time activists and lawmakers – can recall it ever happening before. How many people will it take? Several hundred at least, which is why we need your help.
Finally, to deepen the hopeful, positive “glow” of this evening action, we’re going to have eco-friendly glow-in-the-dark miniature windmills for you to hold. Imagine that sight! A symbolic, glowing, uplifting circle of hundreds of people like you creating a dramatic vision for clean energy.
